  • It Takes a Village

It takes the cooperation of the community to provide and maintain a safe and healthy city.

Last year we served 394 men who stayed an average of 147 days.  We have 76 beds.  It costs $15 per day for them to share a bedroom in a homelike environment where they eat well and learn to live in a healthy fellowship.

As we work with men who are struggling to reenter society, they encounter a variety of  barriers: the stigma of their past, lack of a healthy support system,  social disconnectedness, financial wreckage, and lack of education.  These barriers fuel a weak self-image and create a mindset for failure.

At Recovery Chapel, we are very aware of these difficulties and our staff are overcomers who  show them the way, but it takes a village to complete the task.  Some of the ways you can participate are to:

O  Identify prospective employers for our men.
O  Give rides to church or AA or healthy social events.
O  Donate food, money or clothes to our organization.

O  Attend church with us and help bring 12-step friendly and Christian programs to our church/treatment center located at Recovery Chapel Church, 2722 W. Mt. Vernon St. Springfield, MO 65802.  Join us there Sundays at noon as you meet the men in a healthy, safe, sober Christian environment.
